Weird yet terrifying fish inhabit the depths of the ocean

In the middle of the ancient marine volcanoes of the Indian Ocean, there were many aquatic species never observed before, and in particular amazing fish.

Led by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the mapping mission will have lasted 35 days during which the crew of scientists filmed several unknown fish, some of which were reported on November 3 on dry land.

Many of these species, if not the majority, live in waters about 5 kilometers deep. A hostile zone where light and food are scarce.

Among these creatures observed for the first time, we can notably cite the deep-sea batfish or Batfish (above), which looks strangely like a small ray, or even terrifying eels ( Chauliodus sloani and Nemichthys scolopaceus ), as you can see for yourself.

A specimen of high-finned lizardfish ( soft bathysaurus ) has also been discovered and there is no doubt that the latter is likely to haunt the nights of many people (photo below).
