This year, the mushroom season looks promising! And it is not this resident of the Vosges who would dare to say the opposite. A few days ago, the latter picked a gargantuan boletus.

Earlier this month, Léonie Danner made a great discovery in the forest of Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle ( Vosges ). During her walk, the latter found a boletus of impressive size, report our colleagues from Vosges Matin.

A “sizeable” discovery

After picking the mushroom, the walker hastened to weigh it. Result: the boletus has a weight of three kilograms, specifies the information site. And the least we can say is that Léonie Danner did not expect to come across such a specimen.

« It is very rare to find a specimen like this, especially since it was not rogue “, she explained to the regional daily. ' I cut it up and put it in a vacuum bag to be able to consume it later '. One thing is certain: the mushroom season is off to a flying start for the Vosges: “ This year is for me exceptional for mushrooms and in particular for porcini mushrooms… ».

Watch out for poisoning

On September 8, the National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (Anses) published a communicated , in which she warned the population against the risks of poisoning linked to the consumption of inedible mushrooms.

Still according to ANSES, more than sixty cases have already been recorded since September 1, 2022. These poisonings are due to “confusion of an edible species with a toxic species” or to “consumption of edible mushrooms in bad condition or badly cooked”.
