A man in the United States bought a double-decker bus from the 1950s and turned it into a beautiful little house.
Whit Scott likes to challenge himself. This American from Portland builds and renovates houses with his friends. While the Covid-19 pandemic was in full swing, the latter decided to take on a new challenge: transforming a double-decker bus into a magnificent little home .

The handyman has set his sights on a double-decker bus from the 1950s. And the least we can say is that the abandoned vehicle has an unusual history. Indeed, the bus was once a popular food truck in Portland, known as “The Grilled Cheese Grill.” In total, Whit Scott bought the vehicle for the tidy sum of 8000 dollars (8119.32 euros). Once this step was completed, he began the renovation work.

A breathtaking transformation
First, he threw away the old furniture before insulating the interior walls and replacing the broken windows. But that's not all ! ' I had to cut the floor upstairs so we could stand the kitchen and the bathroom “Whit explained to Insider magazine.

He also used cedar wood from a friend's property to create ceilings and clad the walls. Luckily, he was able to count on the help of those around him and his family, including his father, a retired teacher.

Today, the interior of bus is unrecognizable: the vehicle houses a fitted kitchen, a reading area and a large number of storage spaces. The hallway leads to the living room and the bathroom.
For its part, the bedroom on the first floor has a queen-size bed and an air conditioner. The owner of the premises is preparing to install radiators before the arrival of winter.
The double-decker bus, which is in Whit's garden, has been available for rent on Airbnb for two months.
