When fall and winter storms create powerful waves on Lake Erie in the northern United States, Canadian photographer Trevor Pottelberg documents this force of nature that springs from the surface of the water. Facing winds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, it captures the massive waves that emerge dramatically, leaving in their wake sheaves of icy mist and ripples.
