Indeed, the Spanish government has just made major changes to the travel restrictions put in place in 2020 with the aim of limiting the spread of the virus in the country and thus protecting its population. For a large number of travelers wishing to stay in Spain, these measures had caused enormous difficulties when crossing the border. In particular, it was necessary to present proof of vaccination or a test Covid-19 negative in the controls.

Spain was one of the last European countries to apply such strict restrictions to foreign travellers. Thanks to this good news, it will now be much easier to visit the country, and when you know that this destination is one of the most popular in Europe, this should delight many people. “As of October 21, 2022, the restrictions regarding the Covid-19 test and the vaccination certificate will be lifted” can we read on the website of the Spanish tourist board.

Some restrictions remain in place

If the measures concerning the entry into Spain are over, not all the rules about Covid-19 are. For example, it is still mandatory to wear a face mask on public transport and inside airplanes. Ditto for anyone over the age of six if they go to a hospital, medical center, retirement home or any other health facility such as dentists and opticians. On the other hand, masks are not compulsory in airports, ports or train stations.
