In the Pas-de-Calais, refueling at the Méricourt service station is not always easy. Indeed, this Intermarché service station has been faced with a large crowd for several days, so much so that traffic is often blocked, which leads to disruptions all around the store.

To limit this high influx, the managers of the Intermarché took a radical decision: the station-service will only open the night , between 7:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. In addition to this, payment at the pump will only be made by credit card. This announcement, which surprised many, was made on the Facebook page of the Intermarché de Méricourt.

“Dear customers, dear customers, in view of the abnormal influx of recent days and the traffic disruptions caused, your gas station will only be open from 7:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next day” , can we read on the publication.

A service station open only at night

In recent days, the Méricourt service station has been experiencing abnormal crowds. Endless lines were created all around the pumps, which caused major disturbances in the surrounding area. The deliveries of essence were slowed down, the entrance to the store was blocked by drivers, which prevented customers from shopping, and traffic was significantly slowed down.

“We suffered major disruptions for the access of our customers and delivery people to the store, with repercussions for the other brands in the area. This configuration will allow our fuel carriers to deliver to us correctly, our customers to be able to do their shopping, our goods deliverers not to be blocked, our colleagues in the work area and our employees to also be able to have fuel to come to work” , explained the staff of the gas station.

For the moment, it is not known until when this decision will be maintained, but it has made the joy of all the employees of the store who will be able to go to work without arriving late.
