Indeed, nine environmental protesters belonging to the group Scientist Rebellion entered the Autostadt, a museum and car showroom located opposite the main Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg, and glued themselves to the floor of the Porsche pavilion ( the luxury brand belongs to Volkswagen). This scene, to say the least surreal, took place last Wednesday. The campaigners' aim was to pressure the minister to decarbonise the transport industry, but not everything went as planned.
And for good reason, only a few hours after the start of their intervention, the ecologists, left in the dark and without heating, began to complain that they had no food and that the staff had refused to bring them basins. to meet their needs. Gianluca Grimalda, leader of the activists present that day, who had said he was on a hunger strike, quickly noticed that his hand, which he had covered in superglue and stuck to the floor, was swollen and said doctors l warned he was at risk of blood clots. After only a day of protest, he agreed to leave for medical treatment and was arrested.
The Scientist Rebellion collective brings together scientists 'eager to speak the truth about the climate crisis and to act accordingly'. They are calling on Volkswagen, one of the country's largest automakers, to step up its fight against pollution to protect the environment. environment . Photos from the protest have been shared online and show six of the protesters glued to the ground in front of three Porsche cars. The latter also pasted fake newspaper pages dealing with global warming on vehicles inside the showroom. In the end, the intervention of the ecologists lasted just over 20 hours.

'We do this because it is an emergency and we have to act as such.'
We demand that the CEO of @VW pushes for a 100 km/h speed limit. It would immediately reduce emissions by 5.4 million tonnes of greenhouse gases every year.

In several local and international media, photos taken at the scene showed dozens of riot police inside the pavilion, and a video was later shared on social media in which people are seen of those arrested at the 'outside. As a reminder, this is not the first time that environmental activists have wreaked havoc like this. The protesters for the climate have already been talked about all over Europe to ask governments to act to fight against global warming.
