In Doullens, in the Somme, a swimming pool doomed to destruction has become the playground of around twenty street artists. To highlight their art, an exhibition has been created and it is possible to visit the swimming pool until the end of the year.
In the Somme, in Doullens, it is possible to visit a swimming pool very different from the others. In this establishment, there is no need to take a bathing suit since the swimming pool de Doullens is doomed to be destroyed. Closed for six months, it is unoccupied and has become the playground of around twenty street artists from all over France.

Since July, the artists have started painting several works inside and outside the empty pool. Now, many works adorn the walls of the building such as graffiti, trompe-l'oeil, frescoes and collages. Many drawings have been created in such a way that one has the impression of seeing 3D images.

Between the remaining smells of chlorine, the empty pools and the colorful works, this swimming pool has become a world apart. In the center of the pool, you can see the flagship work of street artists: a huge fresco in which you can be photographed in a specific place, which gives the impression that the pool is collapsing around the character in the center of the image.

Street artists have decorated the place so much that it is now possible to visit the exhibition in the swimming pool. Called “Transition the swimming pool”, this ephemeral exhibition has been accessible since August 26. It was organized by the local association Curb, whose objective is to highlight the work of street artists and encourage young people to express themselves through art.
“We work with the youngest to produce graffiti lessons. We travel all over the department. We have set up a free cube in Doullens where people can come and express themselves completely, free of charge in front of the swimming pool and without constraint” , said Yann Colignon, director of the Curb association.
It is possible to visit the ephemeral exhibition of street-art until the end of 2022. Then the place will be destroyed.
