Last Saturday, she celebrated her 100th birthday with her family and other residents of the establishment.

Today centenary , Marta has forgotten nothing of her life. This woman with exemplary health and memory was born on February 21 in Budapest, Hungary. In 1956, she fled the Hungarian revolution, changed her name and went into exile in Paris.

“I had two children, Helga and Roland, five grandchildren, some of whom live in Finland and came this weekend, and two, soon to be three, great-grandchildren” I explained to the centenaire.

Four-time tennis world champion

But it is above all through her sports career that Marta has stood out. Throughout her life, she participated in 14 major championships of tennis and has won multiple victories. A prize list that she still remembers today with precision.

'I competed in fourteen tennis championships and I won four times the title of world champion in tennis, in women's singles and doubles in 1943, 1951, 1952 and 1956, but also the title of champion of Hungary in figure skating ' , she said.
