Earlier this week, a barn owl victim of a traffic accident in the Channel was rescued by a gendarmerie patrol.

A rescue like no other took place on the night of October 24 to 25, 2022, around 1 a.m.

That night, the gendarmes of the community of the Agon-Coutainville brigades (La Manche) rescued an 'unusual victim'. Indeed, the agents who were patrolling in the area of ​​Quetreville-sur-Sienne saw a young owl frightens.

The owl had a broken wing

Also according to the organization, road accidents are the leading cause of death in this species. Indeed, 20,000 barn owls are killed each year on the roads of France.
