A nugget available on Airbnb

The couple's dream was to have an underground house . It is for this reason that they built Dragon's Knoll, understand in French 'le Tertre du Dragon'. A property entirely built on the mountainside and underground.

The couple began building Dragon's Knoll in June 2019 before opening it in April 2020 to tourists. Asked by Insider , Caroline Parrish said she spent a lot of money on this real estate project: 'It took about eight months to build Dragon's Knoll, and it cost us between $275,000 and $300,000.' She added: “We dug a hole in the side of the mountain, poured a concrete slab, then built block walls, like you would a basement”

Our favorite in the villa? The round entrance door, straight out of a village of Hobbit . 'I found the current door at the Tobacco Barn, a huge antique store in town, it's 150 years old” , said Caroline.

This unusual house is now available for rent on Airbnb for 360€ per night. It is possible to stay there as a family since the property has several bedrooms. It is also isolated from other housing built by the couple. So, convinced?

To book, it's here .
