At 54, this woman becomes a surrogate mother for her son and daughter-in-law

Out of love, a woman decided to carry the child of her sterile son and daughter-in-law.

« A wonderful mom always gives an exceptional grandmother '. This quote from writer Jean Gastaldi perfectly illustrates the story of Nancy Hauck, 58, her son Jeff, 35, and her daughter-in-law, a certain Cambria, 30.

The reason ? For love, the fifty-year-old made the choice to become surrogate mother for his son. This unusual adventure began when Cambria had to undergo a hysterectomy, (a surgical removal of the uterus, editor's note), after the birth of her two sets of twins conceived after an IVF technique.

She decides to carry her son's child

Like many parents, Jeff and his partner wanted to expand their family. It was in this context that Nancy decided to carry the child of her son and her daughter-in-law, who had been rendered sterile by the operation.

« They struggled a lot with infertility. But they had seven embryos to try with IVF and decided to use them all. (…) Cambria could no longer bear her own children. And I had the feeling, a few months later, that I had to propose to him to do it » , confided the mother of the family

From the top of her 56 years, Nancy had some doubts about the possibility of getting pregnant at her age: “ I told my son and Cambria I was okay with it, but I thought I'd be too old '. One thing is certain: the future mamie was far from suspecting that a miracle was about to happen: “ But to my surprise, the doctors said I was healthy and could do it. ».

Luckily, the embryo transfer went off without a hitch. Today, Nancy is expecting a baby boy whose birth is scheduled for November. Unsurprisingly, the latter is eager to meet her grandson
