The baby jaguar rests
As the establishment specifies, the parents of the little one feline , Catalina and Mato, have lived in the park for five years. For the moment, the ball of fur with spotted coat and blue eyes is resting with its mother, out of sight. Visitors will therefore have to wait before meeting the infant.
You may not know it, but the birth of a baby jaguar is good news for this species. The reason ? This mammal is classified on the red list of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), recalls the nice bordeaux.

The jaguar: an endangered species
Like the lion or the tiger, the jaguar is a large cat belonging to the Felidae family. This predator evolves mainly in South America, in the humid forests of the Amazon, in the mangroves and other tropical areas.
Considered a near-threatened species, the jaguar has lost much of its natural habitat due to human activities, such as intensive agriculture and deforestation. But that's not all ! It is also a victim of poaching and the illegal wildlife trade.
