However, exhibitors are much less enthusiastic than in previous years. The reason ? They deplore the presence of visitors 'too alcoholic “, which are more and more numerous. A behavior that merchants regret because they struggle to make themselves understood and to present their products to visitors, who are too drunk.

“It’s a bit complicated, I find that it becomes a drinking binge. It bothers me because we are on very high-end wines, and we have a lot of trouble presenting them to people who come just to get drunk” , said Bruno Merlin, from the Henri Maire house in the Jura.

By 4 p.m., all the families had left and only the young people were left to drink. Corpses of empty bottles lay in the aisles of the living room, whose carpet was stained with alcohol. An atmosphere that surprised both traders and organizers of the show.

“You have to respect the people who make their products, nothing in life is free , said Richard Guérin, producer of Burgundy wines. These people must understand that it is important to listen and not to drink for the sake of drinking. »
