Although this story sounds like something out of a storybook, it actually happened. This unique snap shows the exact moment Alisa Hemming told her boyfriend Liam Duncan that yes, she wanted to marry him. In the background, as the two lovers embrace, a gigantic white-purple lightning strikes the ground, adding a magical dimension to an already joyous occasion.
Liam booked the photography session with Danika Camba, but he wanted the engagement to remain a total surprise. To do this, he told Alisa that it would be a photography session of couple classic. “We started on a small trail on the back of Knox Mountain in Kelowna, BC, and as we walked I took a few pictures of them and chatted a bit, nothing came out. from the ordinary of a normal couple photography session » tells explained the photographer.
It was raining as they walked up the mountain, and the group had already seen some lightning. But given the secret agenda awaiting the future bride, they could not turn back. 'We were at the vantage point and to Alisa's surprise, her parents, originally from Vancouver, and her best friends from Ontario were standing there' said Danika. Liam then got down on his knees and asked Alisa to marry him, which is when thunder rumbled and lightning struck.

A photograph taken (almost) by chance
Obviously, the weather was not at the top of the photographer's concerns when she photographed this moment. She was too focused on the marriage proposal itself. “But looking back,” she says, “it makes sense that I took this shot, because the flash was so close and I took a lot of pictures, because it was THE moment of the marriage proposal, and I usually take a lot of pictures in this kind of moment. I scrolled through the pictures and there it was! » she explained.
